I‘ve always had a thing for bomber jackets, from the black satin C&A number with the tartan lining that I bought on my first solo shopping trip at 11 and the khaki version purchased a few years later – that made me feel like the 5th member of All Saints circa 1997 – to this pink H&M number.
Let me start by professing my love of all (well almost all) things H&M Trend (one of the lines they carry – its labels are cream). I have been known to visit every H&M from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road (that’s a total of five) on the hunt for Trend finds. The label gets it so right; grown-up, sexy, pretty and cool, there’s something for everyone and because a lot of the styles come oversized they fit me perfectly (I often synch in my wast with a belt or by an 8 or 10 as the worst thing a curvy girl can do is wear clothes that swamp her). The general size range for Trend is 6-14 in store (a small 14 in some of the styles, which is the only thing that disappoints me when it comes to more fitted items) – and up to an 18 online (but I hate buying on their site, you can’t return in store AND the refund takes a whole month to hit your account!). On a side note I totally think if the Trend styles were made available in plus sizes they’d make a killing (although I don’t wear it, their plus size range is simply awful).
Anyway back to this gorgeous bomber…It reminds me of The Pink Ladies in Grease and I love how it makes my current uniform of workout leggings and casual tops a bit more cool and considered.
Here’s me in my Bodyism leggings, Topshop jeans shirt, Urban Outfitters t-shirt doing my best Rizzo impression.
